Julia grew up on Réunion Island, located in the Indian Ocean near Madagascar. When she was a young adult, she moved to Paris to start her career in hospitality, and she’s been in Paris ever since. For 15 years, she worked her way up in Paris’s luxury 5-star hotels, before joining her mother-in-law’s family hotel business. In 2019, she opened her very own Hotel Le Ballu with her architect husband Thomas. Hotel Le Ballu is a stunningly designed retreat tucked away in the Pigalle neighborhood of Paris, and where all of our Wild Terrains groups stay during the Paris portion of our France trips.
